June Gilbert Hill

	June Gilbert Hill, age 88, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 12:35 p.m. in the Pinckneyville Skilled Care Unit.
	June was born in rural Perry County on June 4, 1914, the son of Leslie Guy and Margaret Ellen (Schmidt) Hill.  He married Alice Mae Grote on November 10, 1932 in Nashville and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2000.
	He was of the Baptist faith, was an equipment operator and truck driver for the coal mines, a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 9721, an avid hunter, fisherman and avid golfer.
	Survivors include four sons, Leo Edward Hill and his wife, Shirley, of Sparta, Dallas June Hill and his wife, Jean, of Red Bud, Arlen Dean Hill and his wife, Eileen, and Merle Leslie Hill and his wife, Judy, all of Pinckneyville; a daughter, Melba Ann Wolfe and her husband, Dale, of Pinckneyville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, James Hill; granddaughter, Stephanie Hill and sister, Wilma Jones.
	Funeral services were held on Friday, November 8 at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Bro. Rob Mathis officiating.  Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. then at the church until services.
	Memorials may be made to the Stephanie Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund.
